"I have a doctor appointment, I'll be back before lunch."

Then I headed into town for the appointment. I was done at the doctor much quicker than I thought, so it seemed a good idea to do something fun before going back home to the daily grind of duties. After all—it's SPRING!

So I took a quick 5 mile detour through a rocky pine forest to Granite Basin Lake, a small lake nestled in the foothills of Granite Mountain. Normally there are fishermen at this lake, but when I got there, no one was there. It was a little scary because I forgot my cell phone at home, and what if I met a bear? or a wild pig—(they have those here)—or what if I sprained my ankle and had to spend the night out here—Mozart would never know where I was and —have I ever told you I have a problem with anxiety?

I decided to shake off the worries and head down to the lake. But after two steps I heard something that made me freeze. Between me and the lake stood a grove of tall trees with tiny blooming flowers, and I could hear a choir of bees. Make that 100 choirs of bees. I stopped and surveyed the situation. There was no way to get to the lake without passing the trees. They probably would be much more attracted to the flowers, then me. But I was wearing a red blouse and I had heard that the color red causes bees to become more aggressive.

I wondered if Prescott had killer bees.

In an emergency, I could jump into the lake. But the thought didn't console me.

Sigh. I had this lake all to myself, and I couldn't even enjoy it.

So I stood there and tried to enjoy the lake at a distance. But it wasn't very fun.

Then I wondered how many things in life I don't do because of fear.

That thought made me mad.

HECK -- JUST WALK TO THE LAKE!

So walked to the lake, talking to God, all the way down--telling him to keep me safe.

The bees stayed on the blossoms and I didn't see any bears or hear snorting pigs. The only sound was the "quack" of a lone duck on the lake. My gaze was immediately drawn to Granite Mountain rising up behind the lake. It was beautiful and I could see its rocky reflection in the glassy water. As I stood there, a strong breeze whipped through my hair and blew across the water making a pathway of ripples. Then it changed directions several times and ripples were going every which way.

It reminded me about what Jesus said about God's Spirit. It's like the wind, "...it blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going." (John 3:8)
I stood for few minutes enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature and thanked God for this ruggedly beautiful place.

A few minutes later I headed back to the truck, and was home in time for lunch. Mozart was still composing music.

"How was the doctor appointment?"

Just fine."Sharon Lynnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05538835090062707610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5067401464605167310.post-83708083824113123562015-02-26T21:34:00.002-08:002015-02-26T21:38:15.553-08:00Deeply ThinkingI'm deeply thinking tonight. And need to write things down. I've always been one that needs to write. And tonight it seems like this blog is a safe place. It's quiet here. Facebook is noisy.

If someone does meander by my blog, I hope these thoughts will impart some wisdom for the road. The road...yes I have a book called "A Travelers Diary". Inside I've written words to help me on life's journey. I hope they help you too.

Goal: Live that my life produces a yearning for God in others, not admiration for myself.
--from Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) notes

When I feel wronged: God is tender and compassionate. God cares if we are offended or if there are offenses against us. Let Him take care of it. (Don't try to "get back at" people)

On weakness: Our personal weaknesses can be our greatest strength in God's sight (because we relinquish control to God in those areas)—it's very hard to relinquish our strong areas.
--from BSF notes

On Manipulation: When we force people to change, we are literally demanding control of their lives.
It is the Holy Spirit's job to convict people.
Manipulation is a faithless way of doing things.
--from BSF notes

On Failure: Don't expect to never fail—or go to great lengths to avoid falling. We will fall at times, but the Lord is still with us and is working continually to turn things around for the good.
Based on:
Psalm 37 23-24 "The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way.
When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong
Because the Lord is the one who holds his hand."

On Worry: While we are worrying about what might happen tomorrow or picturing the future in our mind, we forget that God is in our future. He promises to never leave us or forsake us, so he will be there with us. --inspired by Sarah Young in "Jesus Calling" book.

It's such a comfort to put Him into the picture.

That's it for tonight---

A Horse is a horse.... Of course? OF COURSE!!!

I never expected a horse to be staring at us over the back fence. Where did it come from? The property behind us doesn't have a barn.

"I hope he doesn't make noise," said Mozart, who is always concerned about anything that might bring odd sounds into his compositions.

"He looks like a quiet horse." I said gathering a couple of small carrots.

Sensi, our dog is enclosed in a smaller yard, and I swung open the gate and we walked (Sensi ran) down to see "Mr. Ed". That's his name until I find out otherwise.

Mr. Ed was curious about Sensi and they touched noses. Suddenly Sensi wanted to play and jumped up on the fence, then she ran down the length of the fence. Mr. Ed caught the spirit and ran the fence with Sensi.

When things calmed down, I gave the horse the carrots. He took them gingerly off my hands with his lips. (Yes, I know to be careful about teeth).

Then we went back up to the house. Mr. Ed stood and watched us until we disappeared into the house. Mozart appeared. "How did it go?"

"Real well. He's a very polite horse."

Suddenly we heard a large screeching "NEEEEIIIIIGH!!" And the another "NEEEIIGH!!" Mr. Ed stood facing our house. "NEEEEIIIIIGH!"

Mozart rolled his eyes, and walked back into his office.

All I can say is...A horse is a horse of course!

But across the street the courthouse was dark, and hundreds of people stood on the grass, along the sidewalk and in the street whispering and waiting.

Then everyone broke into a rousing chorus of Jingle Bells. Larry and Julie, and other friends joined us for the evening.

Afterwards Julie borrowed our camera and we followed her to the foot of the courthouse steps where she took this picture. Many families climbed the steps and took their annual Christmas portraits.
The evening ended...but the story continues...
"And it came about when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds began saying to one another, "Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us."

God has made himself known to us, through sending his Son Jesus, to tell us about his love for us. And Jesus said, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him, will have eternal life."

A call from South Carolina--from someone thinking it was 9:42. After the call, I thought I might as well get up and do something constructive. I had never seen the neighborhood in the early morning light, so I ventured out on my bike.

Jack and Sandy had the travelers over for a Mexican dinner, and invited us too. (They had no choice---as we would be buried in cars.)
A couple of posts ago, I mentioned I would introduce you to our new neighbors. So here they are...
We have also met our Italian neighbors, Michellina and Orego, who live next door. Michellina shoos Javelinas away with her broom. "Sometimes they just stara at me like I'm crazy." And once she had a mountain lion

Okay. There is too much on my "To Do" list. What to do? I will make a list of everything and will structure my time. I know from experience, that if I do this, it will free up my time.

So....

Monday is a day to shop
buy the food and spend a lot

On Tuesday get an early start
write song descriptions for Mozart

Clean the toilets, showers, sinks
sweep the patio and have a drink

On Wednesdays time to wash the tile
do paperwork, and feed the files

Sons will help me vacuum house
I'll sit quiet as a mouse

Pay the bills, and make some calls
and dream of flying tennis balls

Thursdays are for music titles
keyword searches and sorting styles

On Friday water flower pots
Do the laundry—fold a lot

Saturday make a shopping list
Plan 6 meals, and don't forget

Anything.

Put the list in the car
For Monday's trip to stores afar

Sunday, Oh Sunday, I get to rest
Sit in church and gather zest

Later take a great big nap
Till the dog jumps in my lap

If I do all that's here,
stay organized, and keep God near

I'll not be running this way and that
I might even get a little fat.

Ha! Not the best ending, but what can you expect when I'm in a hurry. I'm on my way out to have some fun!
I'm taking the car on my morning errands, but first a quick spin around the neighborhood to practice my shifting...and stopping. It has been a couple of years since I've ridden, and I'm not ready to venture out on the rocky dirt roads yet.
The neighborhood is a lot of fun. People wave at me when I ride by.
Okay. I'm in the car now, and have to pick up some forms at the new doctor's office.
Off to find the post office. There's "Thumb Butte" in the background, and I can see the courthouse in front of it. I see a lot of dogs, taking their owners for a walk along the path that leads around it. The courthouse is about 100 years old.
Oh. There is the back of the post office. This is the old section of town and I feel like I'm inside one of the Jan Karon books, "At Home in Mitford."
Thankfully there is no line. Just a friendly man at the window. Afterwards I think I'll walk around and look at some of the old homes in the area, built in the mid to late 1800's. There are several long streets of Victorian Homes.

These are on Nob Hill. Someone told me it has been called "Snob Hill".

Now off to some stores. This cluster of stores are my closest shopping. It only takes 15 to 20 minutes on a two-lane highway, and the speed limit is 50 (most of the way). There is a JoAnn, Big Lot's, Tuesday Morning, the Dollar Store, and last but not least WALMART.

There are many other stores, not much further, including Albertson's, Safeway, CostCo, Sam's Club, Best Buy, Home Depot, and a big indoor mall including Dillards, JC Penney and more. They have just about everything. Okay, I'm finally done shopping.
I can't find my car. This happens a lot. I need to pay more attention.

I must close up now. It's 11:30 p.m. The house is quiet except for the wind whistling outside. Hope you are all doing well. I'll be back in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned for meeting the new neighbors.
Greetings from Arizona!

When one thinks of Arizona, one thinks of HEAT. But we are at about 5500 feet and the weather ranges from a high of 90 in the summer to 40 or 50 in the winter. Today it was 68. This is a picture of Lynx lake. It's about 10 minutes from downtown, and 25 minutes from our home.

For those new to my blog, my husband and I have recently moved our business to Prescott, Arizona. It was a big step, with a lot of risk. At times during our preparation we were unsure if we were doing the right thing. But I must say that God has undergirded the whole process and we are safely here, settled in, and loving everything about it. We are amazed at his grace toward us, to allow us to live in a beautiful setting (to us) and in spaces where we can see long distances, and also enjoy wild animals.
Larry, one of Bill's closest friends decided to move here, and he and his new wife are now settling in 20 minutes from us. His friend lost his first wife due to illness a few years ago, and has recently remarried. So I am getting to know a new friend—Julie.

I have to add that yesterday Bill went off road dirt biking with Larry and another friend, Dennis. They rode into Jerome, an old mining town, for lunch. One the way back they took a trail that turned into a "rock garden" and Bill fell into a prickly pear cactus. Needless to say, they were late getting back, as Larry and Dennis had to help Bill pull needles out of his arm, cheek and boots.

My job, as soon as I get a little more settled, is to help Bill market his music. I worked for him last summer, when I was on break from my teaching job, and it went very well. I write descriptions of the music, and also come up with keywords for searches. One challenge is that I have to know what instruments are used on the tracks.
I often ask Bill "What's THAT?"
"A Shakuhachi."

We live 15 to 20 minutes from town, and on the way I see open spaces with ranches, cows, horses—with a mountain behind them. Then the open land becomes covered with pine trees. Then after that, I start seeing town. Near our house is a large segment of government land where no one can build. It's a prairie with long yellow grass and widely spaced scrubby oaks, junipers and pinion pines. This land gradually rises upwards into a mountain. Bill and I can go for walks on trails there, and we often see antelope grazing.
We do have to watch for snakes (they're hibernating now). There are not a lot of them but it's good to be aware. We have a family of javalinas come by our house about once a week, and jack rabbits spring out of the bushes in our yard. But this is not happening all at once.
Most of the time our two acres are peaceful, only with the sporadic call of a raven. And part of our yard is fenced. (A very good fence).

The stars are AMAZING. It's so DARK out here. I can find the same constellations I saw in my backyard in California, but they are surrounded by other stars of all magnitudes. Everything is blinking and shimmering like Christmas lights. You just want to talk to God and tell him how much you love his creativity.

I also am amazed at all the different things clouds can do. Every day there is a different painting in the sky.

Please know life is not perfect...but as you can see, I'm overflowing with gratitude.

Stay awake for more about Arizona. I'll be back at the blog in one week, or maybe three--I get a little distracted here.
Hi everyone,

I may have to delete my google account--due to some circumstances-- which will unfortunately delete my blog. Please know I will get it up again soon...or soon after we move. Well...maybe I should unpack first. It may be a month. But I'll be back! I will let you know through facebook, or come over to your blog and let you know when I'm up and running again.
One of my favorite books, Pilgrims Progress, has been on my mind recently, so today I picked up my son's copy and browsed through it.

The book above is a re-telling by Gary D. Schmidt, but he has done an excellent job, and I love his writing style. Gary explains, "I have tried to stay close to Bunyan's original but I have attempted to tell his story to a contemporary audience—which is, after all, what he did." Bunyan wrote in the most common language of his time, as he wanted his points and images to be familiar with his readers, common folk.

After reading a bit, I dug out a very old copy that I found at a yard sale because I wanted to compare some parts with the original text.

As I walked through the wilderness of this world, I lighted on a certain place where was a den, and laid me down in that place to sleep; and as I slept, I dreamed a dream.

As you probably know, John Bunyan penned this book while in prison.

Here is a little more about him via Christianity Today's website:

Bunyan's rise as a popular preacher coincided with the Restoration of Charles II. The freedom of worship Separatists had enjoyed for 20 years was quickly ended; those not conforming with the Church of England would be arrested. By January 1661, Bunyan sat imprisoned in the county jail.

The worst punishment, for Bunyan, was being separated from his second wife (his first had died in 1658) and four children. "The parting ... hath oft been to me in this place as the pulling the flesh from my bones," he wrote. He tried to support his family making "many hundred gross of long tagg'd [shoe] laces" while imprisoned, but he mainly depended on "the charity of good people" for their well-being.

Bunyan could have freed himself by promising not to preach but refused. He told local magistrates he would rather remain in prison until moss grew on his eyelids than fail to do what God commanded.

And out of his hardships grew a powerful allegory about a man and his journey through life that has become an inspiration to many. We relate to this man's struggles and experiences and gain courage to face our own circumstances with courage. We see God's love and care for "Christian" even when he does not see it himself.

So, my fellow pilgrims, if you've never read Pilgrims Progress, I highly recommend it. There are many modern language versions, if you would prefer not to plow through the old English. Get started right now...

Do you see yonder wicket-gate?
The man said, "No."
Then said the other, "Do you see yonder shining light?"
"I think I do."
Then said Evangelist, "Keep that light in your eye and go directly thereto, so shalt thou see the gate; at which when thou knockest, it shall be told thee what thou shalt do."Sharon Lynnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05538835090062707610noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5067401464605167310.post-52558494743474954362014-01-18T18:18:00.001-08:002014-01-18T18:18:18.650-08:00It's Termite Time

This post is dedicated to my wonderful cousins—to Bruce, Dana, Julie and their families who loved and cared for Elsie until she went to heaven at the age of 101.

I interviewed my Great Aunt Elsie because she was 97 years old and I wanted to know what the world was like "back then". Little did I know that a few years later, these notes would hold some valuable nuggets of information that I treasure today.

Elsie passed to heaven several weeks ago, and I found myself gathered with my cousins sitting in a hard pew under the stain glassed windows of a small church listening to the story of Elsie's life. My cousin Dana mentioned that Elsie wrote part of her own eulogy and it began, "I was born 9 miles north of Prescott, Arizona in the shadow of Granite Mountain."

My heart jumped. That was the exact spot in Prescott where Bill (Mozart) and I have been looking for a home. Unless you've been to Prescott, one would not realize the significance of this, but in Prescott you can drive 30 miles and still be in Prescott. The town spreads out over rolling hills, flat prairies, lakes, valleys, and pine forest.

Granite Mountain

When I got home from the service I went through a stack of stuff and found Elsie's interview. And there it was. She had mentioned Granite Mountain.

"The shadow would look blue late in the day." She said the area was called Williamson Valley and the family owned a ranch—"a dry farm." She explained that there was no irrigation, they relied on rain.
"Our homestead was 60 acres." Her father was a carpenter who worked in the town of Prescott building homes and doing other carpentry work. "He left the running of the ranch to my older brother and my mother."

She was delivered by a midwife, Mrs. Simpson. But there was also a visit by Doctor McNalley and he was paid for his services in butter, eggs, chickens, and cord wood. "My caretaker was a collie dog named Boots." She remembers cornfields, chickens, horses and cows on the ranch. "We sold eggs and cheese." Their kitchen was a lean-to against the house. She remembers the ranch was lit by kerosene lamps and part of her chores included trimming wicks and washing glass shades.

She said that it was hard to make a living and they eventually lost the farm before Elsie turned five.

A few days ago Bill and I were in Prescott looking at homes in Williamson Valley, and during a lull in the looking, I set off on a hike in the area Elsie mentioned. (The two pictures above)

To continue with Elsie's story, she told me that after losing the ranch they moved to 100 North Montezuma Street, in town. Here is how it looks today.

She drew a map and explained that they didn't live there long. Two years later they moved to 323 South Montezuma.
I took this picture last week. The right-hand side of the building is 323.

"The kitchen in the South Montezuma house was a large room, and we also had a dining room. A wood stove sat out from the wall. We baked bread and canned our own fruit and vegetables. My mother made the most delicious mince meat." When I asked her what mince meat was, she listed the ingredients: Beef, apples, raisins, sugar, suet (fat) with a crust around it. "It was a dessert."

Her mother sent her to school at the Catholic School. "I had to walk to school and I remember the school was on a big hill. It was good for toboggening." (The Catholic church and school are still there today — up on a hill.)

Now this a bit out of context, but Bill got the flu while we were in Prescott. I know, I know—its the pits to be sick in a hotel room (or anywhere) and I felt so bad for him. On the second day, when he was a little better I slipped out while he was sleeping and took a drive to Williamson Valley to walk the neighborhood where we are looking at homes. After my survey (and after seeing a wild Javelina in the bushes--that's another story) I ventured across the highway to "Williamson Valley Trail Head." The trail headed toward Granite Mountain and I noticed the sun hovering above the summit.
I wondered what would happen when the sun slipped behind the mountain. Maybe I could watch the shadow grow and discover where Elsie's land was. But the sun moved too slowly and soon I had to leave. But I knew I would be back.

On the way out I wondered if Elsie ever snagged her skirt on a prickly pear cactus.
I even wondered if she was afraid of wild Javelinas.

But I have come to the conclusion that she wasn't afraid of anything. She lived a long life full of twists and turns, ups and downs, joys, and adventures. And she survived. Intact. She was made of strong stuff and she is an inspiration to me.
We made an offer on a house today in Williamson Valley-Prescott. I wish I could tell her! But somehow I think she knows.Sharon Lynnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05538835090062707610noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5067401464605167310.post-54598365292284894102013-12-31T14:42:00.005-08:002013-12-31T14:45:07.107-08:00House Hunting in Prescott

Here we are in Prescott looking for houses. You would think that after looking at about 40 houses with one tired realtor we would have found "home" by now. But we're still looking.

This house above is too close to a busy two lane highway.

Now below is another home. Check out the 1600 square foot master.

I don't think I need this much space to sleep. It takes up most of the house.
The houses in this neighborhood are built into the rocks. Pretty cool. But the house is too small and no room for Mozart's studio.

What a beautiful house, and it even has a guest house--a separate little house for Mozart's writing and recording studio.

Mozart measured it anyway, because one never knows... That's a loft upstairs, but the only way to get there is via a ladder.
We will be visiting again very soon and I know we will find the house. I can feel it in my bones. Escrow closes on our current house in mid-January.

Our house sold in one week! We had five strong offers! Today we signed and began the escrow process. We need to go back to Arizona and continue looking for our future home. Fortunately we will be able to rent our own home after escrow, to give us more time if we need it. We are thanking the Lord for this wonderful blessing.

Sometimes we come to a place or situation in life where our ability to control a circumstance wanes, and the whole situation moves over into God's territory.

That is where we are now with our plans to move. We've done all that is possible on our end, and now it is up to God. The house goes up in a matter of days.

I love how author Sarah Young pens God's thoughts to her on October 27 in her book, "Jesus Calling".

Jesus says, "As you become increasingly aware of My Presence, you find it easier to discern the way you should go. This is one of the practical benefits of living close to Me. Instead of wondering about what is on the road ahead or worrying about what you should do if...or when..., you can concentrate on staying in communication with Me. When you actually arrive at a choice-point, I will show you which direction to go."

Jesus makes it sound so easy. And I think it is. We just tend to veer toward the harder route. (Doing things in our own power.)

All of us are looking forward to seeing what will happen next.

The trees on our street display the change in the air, and in our lives. We are planning to move out of Southern California. This is such a big step for Mozart and I as we have lived here our entire lives.

Yet I'm very excited about making this change, and especially living out in a rugged territory, closer to nature.

But no matter where I live, there is no place like California and I will miss it.

Especially all the things that grow here.
I took a vacation day on the first day of school :)

Actually we were called up North because our good friends, Larry and Julie were getting married, and this entailed quite a long drive up to Capitola near Monterey Bay.

The wedding was beautiful, but before I post about that, here are a few pictures of the first half of our trip. We stopped in Atascadero to see some long time friends, James and Elizabeth, who
kindly showed us around, and this included a drive along some beautiful country roads. Atascadero is about 18 miles from the coast. As we wound our way through the brown rolling hills, I wondered what it would be like to live here.
Recently we drove north up the coast of California to attend a wedding in Capitola. I hope to post more pictures later. Although I'm home now, it's nice to know the waves are still there, moving in and out with the tides, every day, no matter what I'm doing here. They never stop. They are as consistent as God's love. Dustin is walking down Whiskey Row in downtown Prescott. This mining town began in the mid 1800's and has many original buildings, including old Victorian homes. Whiskey Row, however, has burned down several times, but many of the brick buildings survived.
Just a little sampling for you. I have lots of pictures, but told myself I could only spend 15 minutes on this post. This is quite exciting--entertaining the idea of moving out of Southern Cal. But a little nerve racking too! We've always wanted to live out in the open spaces, and our Southern California neighborhood, although wonderful, is getting quite crowded. And of course, we want to slow down a little more and enjoy life. We have these matters in prayer, and we will see what God has for us. Stay here? or Go there?Sharon Lynnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05538835090062707610noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5067401464605167310.post-41852016524605748772013-07-25T23:39:00.000-07:002013-07-25T23:49:39.219-07:00When Paths Cross

When our paths cross with friends and family we are enriched and refreshed with new ideas and perspectives. Last April I was able to go to Colorado to visit my brother and family. And in July, my brother came here and brought one niece. I would have preferred two nieces, but the older one was on her own exciting path to Denmark.

My niece, my youngest son, and my mother and I spent a wonderful day on the coast, walking along a path that threads along the bluffs north of Laguna Beach.

Back at home, Mozart is having a "geek day" as they call it. His friend is visiting from San Jose and they are working on a new invention for audio.
The backyard is missing the dog house, but there is a new item. The barbecue pit. Dustin brought it home from work and we've had 2 fires so far. We are burning dried pieces tree branch and dried palm tree bark. We really need to procure some real firewood. But it's a lovely 30 minutes sitting out under the stars.
The orange tree is going crazy with buds. I can't figure out what's going on, except I do see a lot of bees. I thought it might be because I watered it. I rarely do. But since our weather has been so dry, I thought I'd give it a few drinks and POOF—blooms. But it's probably the bees.
Our neighbor across the street, Tom, has tried to plant a lawn several times over the years, only to have weeds grow up, or bugs or assorted disasters. Finally last week, he caved in and bought SOD. I went over and told him he had the best lawn on the street. And then he gave me all his leftover sod. So now our lawn has extended a few feet into the back yard. Mozart threw his back out trying to help me. He's better now, and is not so mad at the lawn.
Speaking of paths, our oldest son moved out with his friend and our family dog. (Actually it is his dog). In this picture, they are on their way to the Cape Cod, MA. Yep. That's a LONG drive. They made it in about 3 and a half days and only one speeding ticket.

So you would think things would be quiet around home with one son gone, and one mischievous pit bull gone. But it's still pretty noisy. I've been helping Mozart in the music biz, subbing in summer school, and other assorted responsibilities. The day zooms by.

Next door I hear the laughter of children playing in the backyard sprinklers, and secretly wish I could join them. I miss those long summer days of childhood. But adulthood has its own excitements.

Yet before summer is over, I'm going to put on my suit and run through the sprinklers.
My brother, his wife, and 2 daughters live on a horse ranch. Lynette, my sister-in-law boards, trains and shows horses. She also gives lessons. My brother is a city slicker, who works in an office. But he is a "cowboy" at heart.

Meanwhile I'm having some fun with my nieces. On this particular day we trapsed all over Denver, ending up with a delicious ice cream cone.

If you'd like to see all the pictures, they are in an album on my facebook.

Have a good day!
A few nights ago we did something we seldom do. We had company. It seems that we seldom entertain because we are too busy or tired. Now I know that this needs to be done more often! It was fun to have the house full of laughter and NOISE. We broke out the guitars (and congas) for a jam session.
