Good News about Blood

My blogging friend, Susan, just wrote a post about something we seldom talk about. The blood of Christ--and how His blood makes us right with God. Her blog is called Living the Adventurous Life. Stop by for a visit. There is good news for humankind there!

I'm so thankful that getting into heaven doesn't depend on me. It doesn't depend on how good I am. It doesn't matter what I've done in my life. God still saves me...no matter what. God still saves you...no matter what you've done. Yes...there is forgiveness for us. Oh the precious gift of forgiveness! And all we have to do is reach out and accept it.

Jesus is reaching out his hand to all of us. He is saying, "grab my hand...I'll pull you to safety. It's not safe in the darkness. Step toward my light. I love you...I've shed my blood to save you!" And he continues to hold out his hand. And he will save EVERYONE who places their trust in him!

Jesus explained in the Bible, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him, will not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Yep, and it's an awesome thing to contemplate. The Old Testament says that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins. Jesus' sacrifice shed the very blood of God, once and for all. All we can do is give our hearts to him and accept his sacrifice in our place.

Thank you so much for stopping by with your words of encouragement.

Thank you also for this good post. I am so glad we still talk about the blood of Jesus!

I wish I had a writer's group like you have - Kev and I want to write our story for publication someday.

Hey Sharon, thanks for the link. I've been wanting to write about the blood of Jesus for awhile. Since I have a medical background, I thought it would be suiting.

You're so right about reaching out to the Lord Jesus. He did the work, all we need to do is accept it. Heaven is a free gift, but it was paid for with a heavy price, the life of Christ.

Speaking of death, ever since my first husband died (it will be fifteen years on June 30th), I've been struck with the idea of "reaching out and God's hand".

At first for me it was sink or swim, I knew I needed to reach out to Jesus my Savior or I would drown in grief. As a writer, we create mental pictures. This picture was of me, floating in a deep sea, with a life preserver around me keeping me afloat.

Through the years, with hidden pockets of grief popping up at different times, I realized there was an area I was still grieving twelve years after his death.

Instead of getting into it here (I'm all ready at full post level), I'll try to blog on it soon.

Blessings today my friend. Hey this blog thing is like having multiple pen pals :)

Thanks for the link!

And yes, without the blood of Jesus....Heaven would be a little empty--wouldn't it!

God is so good!

You just ain't a kiddin'! Sometimes, when I let it actually soak it, it completely overwhelms me what Christ did for me on that cross.
