It was fun to watch the lunar eclipse tonight.
Here is a photo from my humble camera. The moon is almost covered by the earth's shadow.
Tonight I ran in and out of the house while cooking dinner to watch the show. Nobody else around here seemed that excited.
But after awhile, I caught my husband outside at the end of the driveway. Then I heard my youngest son call my name and I whirled around and....where was he? He was on the roof! He stayed up there long after I went back in the house.
My oldest son, who only needed to look at the eclipse once, helped me make dinner tonight by barbecuing hamburgers, chopping and sauteing onions.
The oldest is in the middle of the second week of his new job. Every morning we take off at 5:45 a.m. and head for his workplace. Soon he will get his insurance going again, and I'll be off-duty.
It was nice to look up tonight. And remember that God and his creation are amazing.

I just got a picture of the lunar eclipse...10:26 p.m. EST. It was so amazing...the sky was clear after freshly fallen snow. The stars was incredibly bright; the sky was black with an orange glow around the moon. It was serene. The next one is in 2010...wonder if I'll be around for that one?!?!
I was in California in January for 14 days (rained more in the month of January than all of last year!). Ugh! I'll be in California again in October for my brother's wedding in Herndon?!?! Yes, and we're going dirt bike riding to celebrate (my shoulder is almost healed...just in time to mess it up again!).
Blessings,
Connie
Your view of the eclipse sounds beautiful. I'm watching it right now! I'm so glad the clouds parted!
We stayed up to see it and looked through my camera with the zoom lense. I took some shots and hopefully they will come out. As I read this, I thought man some people eat late, Duh you are in California. Great blog, first time visitor.
I didn't know anything about it!
:( (pout) I love watching God's heavenly bodies and stars!! I hope to get to the Fort Davis Observatory while here in Pecos!!!
Thanks for the picture!!!!
We saw a bit of it when we came out of church at 8:30 mountain time. The kids got so excited.
Hey, I am back, I just noticed that you posted on my plant blog. Thanks for visiting. I am no longer using that blog so please visit my Gregsgeneralstore blog. I see you like Tennis. I am a tennis widow as my wife lives and breaths it. Also we are both into real estate so if you want to do some more investing in this area you can alway email me. I would be happy to give you some free advice or help you find some more property. I can't let my youngest son see this blog as he is really into biking and wants to try something like this and it scares me.
Thanks, Greg, for the kind note...and offer to help with the real estate.
We've been riding for about 5 years now, and so far...no broken bones. (We might be lucky.) But it's like driving...if you're careful...you'll do okay. Yet, you DO have to watch out for the other guys.
We enjoyed it too :) Joel even ran out in his socks onto the frigid deck, much to my dismay, but hey, he survived :)
