Jesus said...

"For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

"Sir," they said, "from now on give us this bread."

Jesus answered, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day."

I have had 2 friends pass away recently. One realizes that our life here is short. I find comfort in reading the words over again...that Jesus promises to raise us up on the last day.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms, if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place, for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

Lifting a prayer for you today in your grief, knowing that our God is the God of all hope. I love that precious promise from John that you quoted. Keep clinging to it. I did after my first husband died and went home to be with the Lord.

Also, please lift up a prayer for my sister-in-law who just started chemo for breast cancer. She is a believer but it is hard on her and her husband, (my husband's brother).

Hugs and prayers,
Susan
