THE WILD RIVER

Our friends, Craig and Linda, invited Mozart and I to the Kern River to enjoy the family cabin.

The cabin sits on a bluff overlooking the river. We pulled out some chairs and relaxed. We had to raise our voices to hear each other because of the sound of the water rushing over the rocks, but we didn't mind.

We went on a hike through the rugged country.

We crossed some wobbling bridges.

We went down to Kernville to view the White-Water-Fest. We watched kayakers negotiate the slaloms.

Oh—A paddle-boarder! He did so well, I asked him if he surfed. He did. It turned out his name is Chuck Glynn and his cousin Laird starred in the surfing movie "That First Glide" which Mozart worked on.

We had very good seats.

In 1953 a dam was built to contain the river to prevent flooding and Lake Isabella was born.

I took these pictures out the window. Getting Mozart to stop the truck is not easy.
