California Poppies

It was my husband's birthday yesterday. What do you get someone who composes music all day? I got "Mozart" a hand held tape recorder. He loves it. And a steak. He really liked that. Now if I can just figure out how to get him out in the sunshine.

A few years ago Mozart and Bill Bright of Campus Crusade put together this music cd. It is all scripture...read by Mr. Bright, with my husband's music in the background. I put it on the other day and it was such an encouragement to hear God's words. Listen to a little bit of it if you have time. (Hope the link works.)

Jesus said...

"For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

"Sir," they said, "from now on give us this bread."

Jesus answered, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day."

I have had 2 friends pass away recently. One realizes that our life here is short. I find comfort in reading the words over again...that Jesus promises to raise us up on the last day.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms, if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place, for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
