Our Hope and Future

We stopped at this little church in Kauai. We prayed. I wish I could be there now to spend some quiet time with God. But God is everywhere, even in my bedroom.

He's leaning on my desk this morning, as I sit in my computer chair. His Word is on my lap. My husband is sleeping quietly still. I pray for our family and friends. Then it seems to me that I'm doing all the talking.

"What do you have to say Lord?" I look into His Word.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you...thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.

I am the vine, you are the branch...abide in me and you will bear much fruit. Without me you can do nothing.

Trust in me with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding
In all your ways acknowledge me
And I will direct your paths.

And the verse that he gave me about my friend, Judy, who fought a serious illness...and became dehydrated. She had a strong faith...entrusting her life to Jesus. She passed away this week.

Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again...but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed the water I give her will become in her a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

What a beautiful promise to meditate on.

notes:
a future and hope: Jeremiah 29:11
abide in me: John 15:5
limited understanding: Proverbs 3:5,7
water: John 4:13

Jer 29.11 is my life verse.

You asked about LA Farmers Market. The parking is usually fine during morning and mid day. There are two lots for the farmers market and a huge multi level parking garage for The Grove. If you park in the garage, you'll have a ticket which you can get validated at Nordstrom's even if you don't buy anything there.

So many of us claim Jer. 29:11 as our life verse. Isn't it wonderful that His promise is for each of us and the unique circumstances that make up each life? Each of us can put our name into that verse . . . "I know the plans I have for you, Glenda . . ." What would we do without the hope He gives?

Lovely church...and I am glad, too, that we can go before the throne of God anywhere and anytime...

I am sorry your friend passed away...what a comforting scripture promise the Lord gave you!
