On Life's Path

I went for a hike a couple of days ago just to get above it all.

My hiking friend couldn't go, so I went alone.

But then I remembered I wasn't alone.

God was with me.

We turned into a canyon.

The path became bumpy. Just like my life at times.

God—why are you leading me on such a dangerous path?

To bring you to this restful place...he seemed to say.

We walked in peace for awhile. My energy was renewed.

Then...

God—You've got to be kidding. I can't do this!

Keep going. Don't give up...In time you will reap a harvest of righteousness.

Oh how I love hikes like this - just me & God. Its been a while since I've been truly out in the mountains alone. Your terrain looks much like ours. Looks like lots of sage brush. Those 'goat trails' you were on looked bumpy & narrow. Good thing you were with the perfect guide!
Thanks for taking us with you too!

I absolutely love this post! I wish I could have been there with you! I also love how you talked about the "we" on the journey. Wonderfully put my friend. I zoomed in on the picture, kind of scary those sheer drop offs. Here in the nearby Appalachain Mts. where we hike, at least there are trees and such to grab hold of when on steep inclines. But like dear Beck said, you were with the perfect Guide :)

Sharon,

Stunning! Beautiful!

I enlarged all of them....and imagined you walking along those trecherous trails~love your analogy....life does mirror your thoughts and yes, we are not ever alone. Great post.

Thanks for sharing it!

Diane

P.S. Are you like me--with camera in hand....as I take the pictures...I think of each person in our little blogdom that I want to share it with???!!!! Now that I know you are an adventure seeker (how could I have missed that!);) I'll be praying more frequently for you!!!! :)

I could almost feel the fresh breeze as I was looking at the photos...they are breathtaking!

Beautiful shots, and beautiful thoughts! My husband does the hiking and the shooting of beautiful photos in our mountains. But I love to live vicariously through the photos.

Just lovely.

Haven't heard an update lately!

Sharon,
What a perfect analogy...up the hills, over rocky terrain, reaching patches of beauty and tranquility...the Lord walks through it all with us. I love that you felt Him on your walk. Always remember He is there even when you feel you are going it alone. And remember we are here praying for you and cheering you on as well.
Blessings,
Michelle
