Bailing the Boat

We are at a point where we don't know which way to turn regarding our son. One thing we do know...we cannot continue living as we have been. The stress is thick, and it never seems to let up.

Yesterday I began calling the Lord's name, over and over. Asking him to intervene in our affairs.

This morning, as I was reading the Bible, some verses in Matthew grabbed my attention. It was the story of Jesus asleep in a boat. A squall came down on the lake and the disciples anxiously bailed the boat. When the waves began to sweep over the boat the frightened crew thought the vessel was in danger of sinking. They anxiously called "Master! Master!"

Jesus got up and calmed the storm for them. Then he said, "You of little faith. Why are you so afraid?"

Jesus must have known they would have made it safely across or he wouldn't have stated the comment above.

Our family is in a storm, and the waves are getting so large it is hard to maneuver the boat. I call out, "Lord! Lord!"

This story assured me that we will make it safely across. And when God is silent...and does not calm the storm...he's still right there...in the boat with us.

Yes, Sharon, He is in that boat with you.

I love when the Bible speaks to us....as though it is God's voice reminding us...tapping us on our shoulders, giving us a hug, and saying, "Be still." Not just to the raging storm, but to our hearts. Peace...

Sorry to hear the storm has swelled in your house. Yes the Lord is there with you but you still have to see how it will 'come to pass' and that is probably the hardest part! You're in my prayers regularly my friend!

The Lord is allowing many storms from the enemy - it will be wonderful to find what lessons He wants us to to learn - I feel for you so deeply. I wish I could help you.

Have a blessed Sunday!
