Sunshine or Rain

Today, before, getting out of bed, I reached over to my table for a little book. I turned to the section that said "How can I respond to life's sometimes troubling circumstances?"

"Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vine; even though the olive crop fails, and fields lie empty and barren, even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation. The sovereign Lord is my strength! He will make me as surefooted as a deer and bring me safely over the mountains."--the Bible, in Habakkuk 3:17-19

I am encouraged to know that God can bring me safely over the mountains. The comment under the scripture reads:

"Focus more on the joy, the peace and the future that come from a relationship with God and less on your troubles. You can always respond joyfully to the God who offers you the eternal (lasting forever) gift of salvation (forgiveness and friendship with God--through Jesus Christ). The more you wallow in unpleasant circumstances the more they may drag you under. The more you reach out to God, the more he can lift you up."

The little book is: "Touchpoints for Troubled Times".

The small book is filled to the brim with scriptures sorted according to situations.

The next verse listed was this one:

No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.--I Thes 5:18

The books goes on to say..."Accept life's circumstances with thanksgiving to God, as well as trust in him for his constant presence and comfort. Whether you are currently living in SUNSHINE OR RAIN. God never changes and his love for you never changes. God is always eager to teach you something from both the good and the bad."

God is attentive. He knows. understands, and has compassion...about our circumstances. He is always at our side. He teaches us-in both the good situations and the difficult ones. Our situations change, but God's love is steadfast.

Very apropos for this time in your life! Isn't it great how God has things like this prepared for us just when we need them?!

What beautiful and powerful promises God gives us. He will never leave us. His love for us will not change! Praise God!

Pregnancy seems to be a mix of sun & rain all in one day sometimes. Whether I'm hunched over in the bathroom tossing my cookies or lying on the couch in bliss feeling the babe in my womb, I am trying to remember to thank God for EACH aspect I'm facing, both good & bad because I know the end result will also be sunshine & rain. Bliss & love, worries & hurts! Thankful that God promises to help us get thru each one!

Hugs!
