EXPELLED (updated Wed. 4/22)

This sentence is not true. The movie EXPELLED is about the true story of a teacher who was expelled/fired because he allowed questioning or further reading...that did not support evolution. (I JUST SAW THE MOVIE AND ITS NOT ABOUT THIS TEACHER. YET the beginning of the movie focuses on people in education who have lost their jobs due to their point of view on evolution. It starts out with these stories...and actually starts a little weak I thought.

But then the film gets deeper and moves away from this to interviews with various scientists on both sides of the subject. It also covers how Hitler used Darwinistic thought to justify purifying the German race. I especially was fascinated with the interviews with DAWKINS, the atheist who wrote the book "The God Delusion."

I would recommend the movie. It will keep you informed about what's going on in the science community...and get you thinking.

I've heard a lot and hope to be able to see it. Such a sad commentary on life in our country, though!!

I don't think I have read the story about the giraffe in your dad's garage!

We went to the zoo yesterday and saw wonderful giraffes.

I don't like documentaries. Would I still enjoy it?

If you are interested in the following question, you might find the movie interesting.

Regarding the teaching of evolution in the public school classroom---should students be allowed to read an article with another point of view?

This directly affects my son, who is learning about evolution in his classroom...so it is of interest to me...and should be of interest to any "thinking" student.

Hi ya Sharon, yes my hubby and I can't wait to see it :) Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis endorses it too. Although it is not a Christian movie, it is like you said bringing up the topic of allowing people to be presented with more than one viewpoint.
