Summer School

I've been helping in a World History class at the public high school. I spend my mornings with 15 Special Ed students. I've really enjoyed studying history with these kids and helping them with their assignments.

Today we re-lived World War I, and then, we watched Russia fall into a revolution.

One must always be ready for the unexpected. One student asked me what the difference was between a Democrat and a Republican. After a few moments of silence (I'm thinking...what does this have to do with Joseph Stalin?) I answered carefully. I didn't want to sway them toward one party or the other.

While explaining, another student blurted out, "What are YOU?"

"A Republican."

That seemed to satisfy them, and they went back to their assignment on defining Totalitarianism.

Speaking of history, the Dead Sea Scrolls are on display in San Diego, California through December 31st. I'm so excited about this. I wrote an article about it for "Associated Content". If you'd like to look at it click here.

Great 'scrolls' article my friend. How is it going with AC writing? I'm trying to get my feet wet with some travel writing sites. The pay is loooooooowwww but I have to start somewhere for now & I'd rather write about my adventures than some of the alternatives (ie product descriptions, financial, political, etc) What other sorts of articles have you been writing?

Hi Cousin! Becky is right...your AC article on the "Dead Sea Scrolls" is really good!! I rated it for you (*****!) and would love to travel down to San Diego to see the scrolls!!!

Miss hearing from you. Momma and I keep you in our prayers. Have a wonderfully peaceful afternoon!!!

I'm with you Becky--I'd rather write about travel/adventure!

Nothing new at the moment. I do have an article coming out in October about Halloween...I'll keep you posted!

Cuz Janey--thanks to you and Momma for the prayers. And thanks to my other friends, too! Please pray that my son can get a job. He's been unemployed since the beginning of April.

I'm here, although Yahweh's Retreat has been on the back burner these past few weeks. Thank you so much for stopping by and giving me the umph! I needed to put a short post up.

Prayers for you continue, my friend.

That would be nifty to see some of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

I was watching a Zola Levitt show several years ago and he was wherever it is they keep them, walked up to the display and just started reading, translating to English on the fly. He was reading Isaiah. I remember getting a chill when he did that, to have the training in ancient languages (Hebrew?) to just start reading them.

That'd be cool--to be able to read Hebrew!

Thanks for the "son" prayers, Beach Girl!
