Slow Down

I have a muscle spasm in my back, so I've been taking it easy this weekend. I hope I can go to work on Monday. This has forced me to slow down.

The good part is, suddenly...I have time to read. (When I can get comfortable) I'm reading my friend's writing magazines. She left a whole stack here. I'm reading interviews with authors, and "how-to" articles and tips. I have not been in the mood to write...but the articles have inspired me. So today I took a few minutes to email an article query to Today's Christian Woman. It could take awhile before I hear back.

I have a new goal. Submit one article per month.

My son is very close to getting a FT job. We should know by Feb. 10. My husband has mixed feelings about it because our son will no longer be able to complete his welding training at the college. But I know if he gets the job...that's where God wants him for now. His hours might be the night shift--11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. He will be trained to machine bearings at an Aerospace manufacturer.

No matter what happens always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. I Thes. 5:18

Oh I'm sorry about your back. Ever since the summer, I've been plagued by mine. I'm glad that you have some time for reading and what a great writing goal you've made. What's your query on? (Just curious, you can always email me a quick note if you get a chance.)

I'll be praying about that job for your son. Jared (16) just got a part time job at the gym where we work out doing housekeeping, front desk, wherever they need him. Since he's a big fellow and strong, they had him lifting 30 gallon containers off the truck on Saturday, his first day... yikes! He came home very tired!

Hey SL, that's good news about C. I'll be praying for that job. Sounds like an awesome chance for the young man. Impressive!! Hope your back feels better soon. And many blessings on your writing goals. You can do it. I guess my goal is to finish editing my novel to present at May's writer's conference. Wanna join me???? Love ya and see ya soon. Love that scripture btw.

Sharon Lynne,

HI! I'm so sorry about your back...but what a great thing to do with your forced rest. And what a great goal.....I have been tempted to submit a query myself....I'm a chicken! You have inspired me however, and as soon as I'm done writing Literary analysis papers and Christian Counseling papers...I may just dedicate some effort and risk a denial!

I hope your son's job pans out....and yes, all in God's timing. Unfortunately, it is only in hindsight that we can prove it was the right thing to do...that's where our faith is so important. Take this Jesus,,,,,,and may it be in your will.

Thanks for stopping by during my long absence...this taking two college courses at the same time has left very little time for blogging. I've been a bad--bad--friend. Sorry.

Diane
