Praying

This beach is a few miles from my parent's home. I took a walk to pray. (My mom's wrist is doing well so far. The pain of surgery has not been bad. She even wanted me to take her to the market.) While mom was napping, I took a walk down toward the beach.

Somehow it gives me strength.

The tidepools are always interesting.

And I like how the ocean water swirls around.

I stood.

I took a few deep breaths.

The wind seemed to blow right through me.

I imagined that I was being baptized by the wind.

I prayed for strength for the difficult situations in our home.

On the way back to my car, I passed these colorful flowers.

"My soul finds rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress..." Psalm 62 1-2a

Hi Sharon Lynne! Hope your mom is doing well. Prayer certainly helps calm our troubled hearts...I imagine it would help more to be praying in a place as lovely as your photos! Lucky girl...

Stop in any time, there are other sheep related stories and of course, as soon as lambing season begins there will be plenty more! Darling and I were considering a series of stories about the adventures of Dolly ourselves =) Sheep are just too cool, good luck with your project!

Love your word picture: "being baptized by the wind"! Praise God for the refreshment He gives you through His beautiful creation.

There's something about being out in God's nature, it just draws me closer to Jesus, the Almighty Creator. Thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures. I love to hike in the mountains, but I also love trips to the beach. I'm on the East Coast (I visited CA once and drove part of the coast - beautiful - I want to come back to visit!) and like to reflect at the beach in the quiet of the morning, lifting up my voice to God. I included a picture of one of those special beach moments of prayer (from nearly 15-years-ago) on a new blog called "Anna's Place": www.shareyourgrief.blogspot.com

You had stopped by my other blog on adventure and left a lovely comment. God bless! You'll have to share about how you started riding that cycle! I didn't check back logs so maybe you can tell me if you wrote about it before:)

Have a great day!

My husband's and son's talked me into it! I love the outdoors, and I didn't want to be left behind. Of course I'm not as fast as they are!
I recently wrote an article about my riding. It's under consideration at a major magazine. I wish I could print the article here...but I'm waiting to see what happens!

Sharon - beautiful photos. Looks like you live in a gorgeous part of the world for there to be such lovely flowers at this time of year. My tulips are barely poking up through the dirt!

Exciting prospect of the magazine article. I too am an aspiring writer (and photographer) and have a few queries out on some of my adventures. A slow process it is. Oh to have more time for it!

Yes...it is beautiful. Those beach photos are an hour from my home. Wish I lived closer!

It's so nice to meet another writer. Yes...it's slow going! I'd be starving if I was depending on the oney one makes!
